Interview Experience 529

Round 1 :

The first round was an online assessment round and it was conducted on HirePro platform. The assessment had 2 sections where the first section was based on aptitude and second one was technical. However I found technical part to be bit easy as compared to aptitude part. I tried to solve as many questions as I can and luckily I got shortlisted along with 21 students for the second round i.e. interview round.

Round 2 :

The second round also included an online interview. All of the students were divided into groups and given a panel list from which to conduct interviews. I was in panel 3, and my interview took place between 2.00 and 2.30 p.m. So the interview began with my introduction, and then he proceeded to the web development section, where he asked fundamental web development questions such as what is backend, what is mern, which languages can be used in backend, and so on. He asked me why I utilised mern stack because I had a project on it. I had mentioned SQL and MongoDB on my CV, and he began questioning me about both. This was the question I couldn't answer because I was so focused on DSA at the time that I forgot about several crucial web development aspects. I informed the interviewer about it, and he then gave me a problem statement regarding oops. He explained the question to me and then asked me to code in any platform I wanted, so I began coding in vsCode. I took my time comprehending the subject and was highly engaged with my interviewer.I kept asking him questions so that I could better grasp what he was saying. After understanding the question, I explained the method to him first, and I only wrote the basic logic in my own code. After that, he asked me to optimise it, which I was able to do. Finally, he asked some basic oops and javascript questions, such as what is data abstraction, what is encapsulation, and what is the difference between javascript and c++, and so on. Later that day, we received the results, and I was the only boy chosen for this role☺️.

Suggestions : 1. Only include things or skills that you have developed in your CV; otherwise, it may produce a poor impression in front of your interviewer. If you don't know something, don't tell them you don't know. Always try to explain that you are unable to recall it right now. 2. DSA is not the only key. You must work on development or another field of interest in addition to DSA. 3. Always communicate with your interviewer and confidently answer the questions.
