Is it mandatory to learn c or c++,(whatever being used in syllabus)?

My point in asking above question is, 1) I am already comfortable with syntax of java so there's no point in going for c from scratch..... 2) Do we have option to write code in any language in semester exams?

In semester exams, C language is preferred to write codes.

It's great if you're comfortable in Java. Still, you'll be able to learn C in your classes from scratch.

For your semester exams maybe you will be specifically asked to write C code only. . It's great that you know JAVA nonetheless, professors prefer C++ over Java in our college, so I guess it will be better to switch . Hope this helps.
